World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading

Upgrades can boost the value of certain numeric stats on weapons, armor and rings. Upgrades can also boost bonuses like crit chance and PvE Damage.

For instance an item with the upgrade template that ends in % will gain 3damage to attack each time it is upgraded (relative to its previous value).

The cost of upgrading an item is determined by the item's level. The cost increases with the item's level.

Components

Upgrade components can be added to trinkets, armor, and weapons in order to give them a stat boost or an extra effect. These can be obtained through crafting, purchasing from vendors trading or looting. Certain upgrades come with special cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components can be inserted into equipment that has a slot for them. The item must be at least upgraded to the blue level in order for the component to be inserted. Like other mods, upgrade components can only be used once and cannot be applied multiple times or replaced by new upgrades. Infusions and enrichments are a specific type of upgrade component that is designed for non-amulet ascended and legendary equipment as well as the non-ascended back items. Enrichments and Infusions can be obtained by salvaging equipment from the ascended state or completing a quest in the Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall campaigns.

An upgrade could have a prefix or suffix that alters the name of the equipment to which it is applied (for instance 'Canthan Armor Insignia' becomes Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor). Some upgrades boost an item upgrading's Mark Level, or Rarity, allowing players to make stronger versions of the equipment that require the smallest amount of Upgrade Crystals than are required to reach the same upgrade level through normal methods.

A boost upgrade can alter the attack or defence attributes of an armored weapon or. Once the player has completed the cutscene and defeated the Crazed Mechanist, these upgrades can be crafted at the Portative Forging Station. These upgrades are available for purchase them in the cash shop or by collecting them from enemies when upgrading other gear.

Each upgrade increases the likelihood that a higher-tier version of the item will be available at the next reset. This gives the player an incentive to keep improving their equipment even if they're not sure of the extent to which it will improve after a future reset.

Whether a boost upgrade is successful or not, the process may be costly and there is a significant possibility that the item upgrader will be obsolete or even break if it fails. A unsuccessful upgrade could destroy the Upgrade Crystals and Assist Powder as well as the upgraded item. This is mitigated by the availability of cash shop items to double or even eliminate possibility of failure, as well as some upgrades that provide an additional benefit when they are inserted into an item.

Glyphs

Glyphs are upgrade elements that can be placed in special sockets on the Paragon Board. Glyphs can boost the performance of nodes within a radius, including any existing affixes. Glyphs can be upgraded in numerous ways. We recommend upgrading them as quickly as you can to level 15.

You'll often see in the final game that placing Glyphs is the best way to upgrade your equipment. These are the only upgrade component that can be upgraded up to level 15 and provide significant boosts to your power on the Paragon Board.

Glyphs, the only upgrade component that can be removed without restriction and then replaced with no restrictions are the most commonly used. Only legendary equipment can be salvaged and replaced by using a Black Lion Salvage Kit.

Each Glyph has a particular range of values that it can improve a stat by, and the value is displayed when you choose the Glyph in your inventory. You can decide to replace it with a Glyph of the same rank, or a higher rank, which will boost the overall value of the glyph.

You can find Glyphs in the Black Lion Trading Post, as part of the Gem Store purchase or bundle with certain gathering tools that are unlimited-use, and through Faction Crypt raids. Each Faction Crypt has the possibility of dropping one of the various Glyphs and there are some rare glyphs to be found as drops from any of the four Faction Crypts.

Once you have gotten the desired Glyphs you will require them to be placed on your equipment. Each Glyph unlocks a special bonus which will boost the stats of a specific set of nodes that are within the radius of the Glyph. It could be +40 for one of your primary stats or +25 for two of your secondary stats, based on the Glyph.

Glyphs boost all nodes that are connected to them, therefore it is recommended to place Glyphs in strategic places on the Graph. This will maximize the impact. Druids for instance, should place their Glyphs close to their primary damage nodes. They might also consider placing them near their most critical damage nodes.

Leveling

The item upgrading system allows players to increase the performance of specific items by putting upgraded components in them. This is referred to as "upping". Each level of item requires various components, and upgrade costs increase with each level.

These recipes are available in the upgrade tab of a crafting table, or purchased from some NPCs. Each Upgrade Recipe that is completed yields a certain number of Technology points. These points can be used to upgrading an item. Once enough points are earned you'll be eligible to claim the upgrade and get its extra bonuses.

When an item is upgraded by a player, the base item is replaced with a different item of the same kind. This means that the same armor piece will get an weapon or shield once upgraded. The new item will have its own set bonus. This could be a drawback since the item may increase in price even if you don't require it.

If the player has enough tokens they can reroll item upgrades. This causes the item to be exchanged for a new one, which will have a level 1 base and a completely different set of bonuses. This can be useful for certain items, however it shouldn't be done regularly, as it could waste a lot of resources.

Certain upgrades can be rerolled several times, increasing their value and giving players the ability to alter their equipment. Dolphin's Gift is a good example, as it provides an increase in power if the player repeatedly enters or leaves the water. This item can be upgraded several times and increases the maximum roll each time by 10 increments. This item is highly valuable in PvP. Requirements

The ability to upgrade items allows players to upgrade the level of their equippable equipment--armor, weapons, and trinkets above ilvl 385--by presenting the appropriate currency and items to an NPC that upgrades items. Upgrades to armor set pieces increase its base defense, while upgrades to weapon items increase the damage they deal as well as the required strength and dexterity.

Each item can be upgraded a maximum of five times, except for hero gear which can have eight upgrades. Each time you upgrade an item, it has a chance to fail--the failure rate increases the farther you go over the maximum amount of upgrades. Failures will result in the item level upgrade reverting to its original state which means that the player has to pay for more materials than if they had stopped upgrading after the maximum amount.

If an item does not upgrade, the amount of accumulated experience in its growth bar is reset to zero. In addition the item will lose any bonuses it gained such as crit chance and attack damage, as well as any additional effects associated with the effect (for example, increased heal over time or speed of reload). The player can continue to use their weapon or armor after the failure.

When an item is upgraded the upgrades are applied from the lowest to highest. This means that, should a weapon gain an increase in crit chance the increase is applied before any increase in attack damage. The amount of resources required to upgrade an item is determined by its rarity rating and the number of upgrade slots. Hero grade items will have the lowest cost for each upgrade.

Premium items could require different upgrades than regular gear. For example they might require less sowels, however they may require more minerals and orons. The player will need to take every piece of gear they want to upgrade to NPC [Armor] Boboko located in Central Flarine. In addition to the upgrade costs mentioned above, each equipment upgrade requires an individual amount of ingredients needed to upgrade.
